Escalation
Handing a decision to somebody with the authority to make it.
Every automated process needs one, because eventually something arrives that it should not decide alone. A good escalation carries the context, the options and what has already been tried. A bad one is an alert in a channel nobody owns.
Why it matters
Automation without a designed escalation path fails by guessing.
